Japanese born Pianist,
Yuki Mack, has dazzled audiences on three continents, performing works
for Solo, Chamber music, and works for one piano, two pianos, and
performances with orchestras.
Arriving in the United States as a child she eventually settled in
Michigan. Yuki studied with Brazilian pianist, Flavio Varani and the
late Joyce Adelson at Oakland University and later with Louis Nagel at
the University of Michigan.
In 1994, after wining strong
recognition as a soloist, Yuki and her sister Tomoko, melded their
artistry into an award-winning piano duo. They won prizes in several
prestigious international competitions: First and Kodama Prize at the
Fourth International Piano Duo Competition in Tokyo; Ellis Two-piano
Competition, (best performance of an American work) and the Dranoff
International Two–Piano Competition. The Duo has been featured in the
Gilmore International Keyboard festival in Michigan, the Symposium for
Two-Pianos in Florida and the Quebec International Two-Piano Festival.
Frequently, Yuki joins the faculty of the International Summer Music
Festival in Naleczow , Poland.
In Chicago, Yuki and her sister
have performed on the Dame Myra Hass Series and on Live From Studio
One, both broadcast on WFMT. They have toured the United States and
abroad performing in small communities and major cities such as
Stockholm, Milan, Warsaw, Tokyo and New York.
The Duo has produced three highly
acclaimed CDs: Rhapsody, American Mosaic and Fantasy.
Their fourth CD will be released in 2007.
The Mack Duo has recently been
selected as Steinway Artists.
In addition to performing, Yuki
devotes her time to teaching and out reach programs.
